The Hedberg

Hedberg is a world leading performing arts centre, designed for the collaboration, rehearsing, performing and recording of creative practices.

The highlight of this project is the custom designed and engineered aluminium “crucifix” profile used in the buildings feature glass boxes and glazed roof transitions. In these sections the high performance double glazing is affixed to the crucifix profile using only Dow-Corning structural silicone giving a seamless external look.

This project also included the widest telescopic automatic doors in the southern hemisphere. These Geze operators were supplied and commissioned by Hafele.

Adding to the complexity of the glass box entry are overhead glass automated louvres. CWD partnered with leading façade automation designer EBSA to make this design feature a reality.
